During out NMT lecture the previous week, my teacher has invited a former TP student from IIT school, Lionel Chin, the co-founder of ripplewerkz to come forward and tell us about his job as a “Web designer”, how he made his way up from a freelance to opening a web designing company of himself, how much he charges for the website, and also suggestions for students who aspire to be the next upcoming web designer, and also the difference between a freelance web designer and a full-time web designer working for a company, and also the harsh reality out there for web designers.
As I enquired more from Mr.Chin, i learnt that the cost of creating a website can vary from different prices from $200 to thousands depending on the add-ons and if it requires flash or any other applications they would like to add into the website. Mr Chin also suggested to us to start out as freelance web designers as it does not require more responsibility. However, the pay for a freelance is defiantely different from a full-time one due to the responsibilities done, if a web designing company is not able to showcase a proper work of a website by the given deadline, they could be sued and have to pay more for what they did wrongly, a freelance designer however, has the leisure to not put full responsibility into their projects due to being held up by their own duties outside of that job. They can also choose to not submit the project on the deadline but however that may cause them to lose their paycheck.
Web designers also have to pay close attention to their customer’s needs, if they made a mistake somewhere which does not appeal to the customer, customers can actually choose to reject that idea and they might even reprimanded or even get sued if they’re working for a company.
Mr chin himself started out as a freelance and slowly built his portfolio up to gain more favour for his customers, he also suggests getting a customer base before starting out as full-time otherwise the publicity might not be good enough.

The National Archives of Singapore, also known as the keeper of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights is basically a place which keeps our national records, this is very important to us singaporeans as it contains the history of Singapore, which is helpful in reminding us singaporens about our past and how to learn from it and not repeat whatever past mistakes our ancestors have made.
The services The National Archives of Singapore includes the borrowing of NARA materials which are however, not the original copy. However, original copies can be loaned for exhibition to qualified institutions for the purpose of informing and educating the public about NARA, its holdings, or the national experience, while ensuring their continued availability for the future. If you do now know the exact page of the census, you can check with your local librarian or genealogical society for more information regarding the census you are looking for.

After reading this article which sparked my interest, I feel that Google has indeed made a right move in purchasing Youtube, it is the only important social video sharing site out there, and from another article which I read, Youtube has one billion biews a day, this is a smart move done as this would attract companies to want to put their advertisements on Youtube. At first glance, spending 1.65 billion on anything is definately something which anyone would need second thoughts about. However, judging from the way Youtube is now, I sincerely believe that google did indeed make the right choice in purchasing Youtube.
Google and Youtube has made a great impact in many people’s lives, after asking a few of my friends which search engine do they usually use, they all came up with a similar answer. Google. And like I said previously and as read in the article, the only important social video sharing site out there up till now is only youtube, and i believe it is highly unlikely to be precedented by any other video sharing websites anytime soon.
Youtube and google might not really be the more impactful media “trend” around, but from what I see, they have been used by almost everyone I know at least once, (except for some of my family members, but its still a large number.).
With that being said, I conclude my literature review by praising Google once more for purchasing youtube and having it become one of its best assets yet. Thank you

Hey, ADP’s back to blog again, heard that I need to post once in a while for NMT, and here I am thinking that just creating it was enough. Oh well, thats not too much of a chore anyway.
Just came back from home after a day of basketball, dance, and talking crap with friends as usual. Had director’s cup today and the other teams totally mopped the floor with us. But it was fun still, so I guess everything’s alright, shot in a really lucky shot today that made me feel like I was on cloud nine. Shall no elaborate further on that. Lost 2 matches out of 2. But still, its having fun that matters, so yeah, I guess today turned out to be a pretty fun day for me.
After basketball, went KFC with poly friends, went home with Lam and here I am sitting in front of the computer blogging once more. =)
Yay I made it to my second post! =))
